Gabriel, this a great tribute to your father. I don't think I could do this, Dad died a year ago last March, so this is my second year without a father. Mrs. Jim's father died when she was seven, she has not had a father for a long time.
Happy WW!

I can find nowhere to email you - so I shall leave you another comment. As far as the watermark on my photos, I use Photoshop Elements. I believe there's an easier way to do it, but I don't know what it is, so this works for me.

If you want more info, you can email me at bunny dot trails at yahoo dot com.

My -shorter- answers to the comments in English:

Bunny trails, Napaboaniya, Ellen B, Sandy Carlson, Julia Smith, thank you for your kind comments.

Lori, It's hard, and I totally feel for you. Your dad will be in my prayers and thoughts this weekend too.

Carrie, Indrani, yes I do miss him a lot. I mean, I am somewhat used to the idea of not having him around since I was 11. But at least I could talk to him on the phone... But I still talk to him many times, through the songs he taught me.

Jim, it's hard for me as well, but it's my way to deal with it. You know, I haven't even had the chance to visit his grave... It's going to take time until I get that sensation of closure.

Bunny trails, thanks for coming back! I will check out Photoshop Elements, I love the way you watermark your pictures.

Roger, Eastcoastlife, Randall, Will, thank you all.

Dawn, I'm sorry for your loss. It's tough, isn't it?

bns, I understand. With the time, you get used to the notion of not having him around, but you still miss him. Thank God for pictures and videos.

Trinity, I am absolutely going to participate. I will send you my tribute between tonight and tomorrow. Maybe I will just link to your blog on Sunday.

Jientje, Jams o Donnell, cliktrik, dzoi, thank you.

willthink4wine, I agree. Having my dad living with me for a month and a half in 2005 allowed me to re-discover him as a person. You would say we got to know each other again. My kids complained that he would never stop singing! :-)

Mar, fernweh, lifecruiser, digital flower pictures, kelly c, thank you all.

sherrie, of course that little kid struggling to walk is me! :-)

june, I was planning to keep all the pictures in chronological order, but then I realized that there was one that was perfect for closing the post, and that's why I left it there.

Tink, Steven and Aisha, Dark angel, thank you.

Kimmie, I'm so very sorry. I will keep you and your father in my thoughts this Sunday.

Janetoile28, Jenny the bloggess, Shannon, Erin, I really appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Mygoodfinds, as I said before, thanks God for photos and video.

Stephanie, Keri, Annie, Raven, Red lotus mama, Gigi, thank you. Raven, I'm sure he's watching over us. And most importantly, he's happy and proud of his five children, he told me that the very day he died.

Anonymous, so sorry you didn't leave your name. Thanks for commenting, and yes, it's always bittersweet.

The teach, Mary Beth, My goodness, Robyn Jones, Starrlight, thank you all.

What a wonderful tribute! This is also my third Father's Day without my dad. All I can say is it stinks!

Biddie said...

That was very touching, Gabriel. Your father looks like a very kind man.
My Dad died in 1999, on July 11th. I remember the last Fathers Day that we had, and it was so bitter sweet. We knew that he would not be around for another one, but we still had him that day. I miss him so much. Our family has fallen apart because of him, and nothing is the same.
Still, there isn't much that I would change. He was terminally ill and had suffered for sooo long.
It will get easier. I'm sure that you feel that sense of closure when you get a chance to visit his grave. I hope so :)
